Biography

Vazquez Martin 1940 - 2017, one of the leading masters of abstract painting in Cuba, Latin America and the world. His work is held in a number of prestigious collections of national and international institutions including UNESCO International Association of Art (AIAP)in Paris, the Spanish Office of the European Economic Community in New York, Latin American Collection of Essex University in England, Salvador Allende Museum in Chile, and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba.

He was also member of International Association of Art (AIAP).

Vazquez Martin was one of the leading masters of abstract painting in Cuba, Latin America and the world. His work is held in a number of prestigious collections of national and international institutions including UNESCO International Association of Art (AIAP) in Paris, the Spanish Office of the European Economic Community in New York, Latin American Collection of Essex University in England, Salvador Allende Museum in Chile, and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba.

He was founder and director of a number of Schools of Visual Arts in Cuba.

As a teacher, he had good pedagogy technique. He taught with an infinite source of creative classes to introduce and stimulate the students interest on the art of painting, its history and appreciation. Vazquez Martin believed that artists should know well the world where they live. He used to say we all should know how art has contributed to human civilization, as well as its present influence and importance for the future.

Vazquez Martin is listed in the Public Catalogue Foundation of Great Britain because of his paintings presence in that country. His art have been exhibited in countries as Cuba, United States, Great Britain, Spain, Austria, Norway, Italy, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Nicaragua, India, China as well as in many of the Eastern European countries, etc.
